Russian compatriots joined in Immortal Regiment action in Japan

Russian compatriots and ambassadors joined in Immortal Regiment procession in Japan, TASS informs. This type of the event is conducted in Japan for the very first time. The chief of Russian diplomatic mission in Japan has marked that this action unites people all over the world.

Immortal Regiment coordinator Tatyana Romanova has said that not many locals know about the Victory Day on May 9th, and that many Japanese people look at the WW2 from the other perspective. Meanwhile, Russians from Japan joined the action with the great satisfaction.

This year the Immortal Regiment action is conducted for the 7th time. For the very first time the relatives of war veterans went out with portraits of their ancestors in Siberian city Tyumen in 2007. Now it is an international event. The most mass processions, beyond Russia, take place in Israel.

Besides Japan, Democratic Republic of the Congo in Africa, Hanoi in Vietnam, Banja-Luka in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and french cities Marseille and Frejuice join in the Immortal Regiment action this year for the first time.
