200-years Dostoevsky anniversary to be widely celebrated

World-known writer's 200th jubileum will be celebrated at the national level in 2021, TASS reports. The respective Decree was signed by the RF Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev. He has approved the membership of the organizing committee in charge of setting up the commemorative activities program marking Dostoevsky's anniversary.

About 30 significant community leaders and politicians will work under the leadership of RF Minister of Culture Vladimir Medinsky.

The work of the great Russian writer is not loosing popularity nowadays. There are millions of fans of Crime and Punishment, Karamazov Brothers, The Idiot, and other Dostoevsky's novels all over the world. His works are continuously performed on stage and brought to the big screen.

It is also worth mentioning that Dostoevsky is one of the main symbols of Saint Petersburg.
