Series of photographs of the ghost town near Chernobyl goes viral

Group of Polish enthusiasts named Naprowmieniowani went on an unguided tour through the streets of Pripyat, a radioactive ghost town just outside Chernobyl.

Krystian Machnik and Adam Bojanowski didn't simply take pictures. Lugging a gas generator with them, the adventurers made the electrical tech in Pripyat work, after all these years.

In memory of Chernobyl disaster that happened on April 26, 1986, some lights were turned on after 31 years in full darkness. The images of empty partly lightened city made young men famous in just few days.

Because of nuclear contamination, it is not allowed to live in Pripyat and all the area around, however over 200 older locals still do despite the radiation. Krystian Machnik and Adam Bojanowski are not the only dangerous adventurers. There are some other radioactivity enthusiasts that arrive from all over the world to make their nuclear pilgrimage to Chernobyl.
