Russian Ministry of Culture will teach Internet users to handle the Kalashnikov gun

The virtual project Weapons of Heroes devoted to arms’ exhibit of the Tula State Museum of Weapons and developed in tandem with Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation will contain the function of a weapons’ engineer. This function will help study the design of legendary shooting arms models, among them are the Kalashnikov rifle system and the Shpagin sub-machine gun.

Referring to the interview with Vizerra general director Alexander Lavrov, TASS informs that the exhibit program will include a virtual shooting club, additional information and description on the historical background and facts about objectsof the virtual exposition. The application will be available for users starting May 4 free of charge.

Adviser to the Minister of Culture Vadim Vankov has commented that the web portal Kultura.rf provides a virtual access to the collections of more than 200 Russian museums. The similar access was established for the Pushkin State Museum of the Fine Arts collections.

Advanced technologies used for the project implementation comprise circular photography and systems of augmented reality for detailed studying of the exhibited items and their history.
