Russkiy Mir presented books to Macedonian University

Gala ceremony of granting books and multimedia sources to Russian Center at the University of St. Cyril and Methodius in Skopje, Macedonia, by Russkiy Mir Foundation was held April 5.

University of St. Kirill and Methodius in Skopje was founded in 1949, at first it had only three departments. Now it is a leading higher educational institution of Macedonia with around 50 thousand of students studying at 23 departments in 10 scientific institutes.

Russian Ambassador to R. Macedonia Oleg Scherbak, Russkiy Mir Foundation Executive Director Vladimir Kochin, University Rector Nikola Yankulovsky, Deputy Culture Minister of the Republic of Macedonia Dragan Nedeljkovikj, students and teachers of the university, representatives of Russian Embassy and intellectuals of the Macedonian capital took part in the ceremony. Archbishop of Ohrid and Stefan of Macedonia were present as well.

The guests extended gratitude to Russkiy Mir Foundation for establishing the Russian Center, which became an important creative ground of the university in Skopje over a year. For a short time period the Russian Center organized dozens of events, more than 100 people subscribed for the Russian language courses.

Overall, Russkiy Mir Foundation established 107 centers in 45 countries around the world. The programme of establishing Russian centers has been implemented since 2008.
