Russian Figure skater Medvedeva becomes World Champion

Russian figure skater Evgenia Medvedeva became World Champion having won ISU World Figure Skating Championships held in the capital of Finland, TASS reports.

It is the second golden medal for the 17-year old figure skater. The first one was received last year. Canadian figure skaters Kaetlyn Osmond and Gabriel Daleman took silver and bronze medals. Russian figure skater Maria Sotskova occupies 8th place and Anna Pogorilaya is on the 13th place.

Besides, Evgenia Medvedeva managed to improve her own world record of the last year, which was set at the European Figure Skating Championship at the beginning of last year in the Czech Republic. Having completed her short voluntary programme Evgenia received more than two hundred thirty three points. She excelled one more world achievement of her own. She got more than one hundred fifty four points in the voluntary programme. According to Medvedeva, she was very satisfied with her performance results.

Three figure skaters in single skating programme will represent Russia at 2018 Winter Olympic Games in PyeongChang, South Korea.
