Russian Case Festival brought together theater professionals from 28 countries

The 17th edition of the Russian Case Festival started today in Moscow. It will run until to April 4th. Russian Case coming as a part of the Golden Mask is a National Theatre Award.

It is adressed to foreign theater professionals, such as festival and venue programmers, presenters, theatre researchers, journalists and critics. During these 6 days they will be able to get a clear picture of the theater situation in our country.

The Russian Case programme was established by the Golden Mask Festival in 2000 as a obligatory showcase of Russian theatre. This year it is attended by some 90 theater professionals from 30 countries, such as Austria, Germania, Israel, Hungary, France etc. 32 stage performances are going to be shown.

Best performances from the best theaters are in the schedule, such as School of Dramatic Art, Dmitry Krymov Laboratory, Mayakovsky Theatre, Stanislavsky Electrotheatre, Meyerhold Centre, Govol Centre and many others.Chamber Theater from Voronezh will show classical Chekhov's play Uncle Vanya, Theater of nations will perform The Breath based on British playwright Duncan Macmillan’s Wind, Moscow Ballet Theater will show Bessies Theater Workshop winner Cafe Idiot, the fantasy based on Dostoevsky's novel.

Apart from plays there are many theater related activities such as round tables, Q&As and guided tour in Stanislavsky House Museum.
