Zoology movie got the Main Award of the Marbella Film Festival

Zoology by Ivan Tverdovsky was acknowledged the best movie at the Russian Film Festival hosted in the Spanish resort city of Marbella, according to TASS. Besides, Pyotr Fyedorov and Irina Verbitskaya playing the leading parts in that movie were called the best actors of the male and female roles correspondently.

The jury awarded a title of the best film director to Nikolay Khomeriki for his movie Icebreaker. However, the Audience Favorite” prize went to The Doctor – directorial debut of famous Russian actor Gosha Kutsenko.

This film festival is held for the fifth time. It became international in 2014 and received a new official name Marbella International Russian Film Festival. Cinema goers could watch about a dozen of new motion pictures by Russian filmmakers. Many people speak English in Marbella, so the organizers decided to add English subtitles to some of the movies on the agenda, some other films had subtitles in Spanish.

Good boy movie by Oksana Karas opened the Festival. Among other movies were Russian Armenian drama film Earthquake directed by Sarik Andreasyan, Russian adventure drama The Duellist by Alexey Mizguirev and Queen of Spades by Pavel Lungin.

President of Spanish Film Commission Carlos Rosado Cobian headed the international jury. The main award is a matador bronze statue holding a coat and cinema clapstick in his hands. This statue is a creation of Spanish sculptor Pedro Rodriguez.
