Russian Universities strengthened their positions in QS rating

Leading Russian universities have significantly reinforced their positions in the QS rating (Quacquarelli Symonds) regarding the quality of education in certain disciplines, TASS informs.

According to Minister of Education and Science of the Russian Federation Olga Vasilyeva, the fact that 28 Russian Universities were included into new QS rating with overall 148 positions published on Tuesday testifies a serious breakthrough made by the national higher education systems that is developing in the right direction.

Lomonosov Moscow State University was included into top 100 rating in 15 positions, whereas the university took high positions in such disciplines as Linguistics and Physics and Astronomy, 13th and 15th positions correspondingly.

Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology skyrocketed by 100 positions up to occupy 42nd place in Physics and Astronomy field, thanks to the growth of quality and number of publications and opening of hi-tech innovative labs. Rector Nikolay Kudruavtsev remarked that the MIPT plans to reach the level of those 100 best world universities in three years in this prestigious rating.

Meanwhile, Higher School of Economics appeared in top 100 rating in three disciplines, which is also a great achievement positively impacting its reputation. Saint Petersburg State University has improved its positions in a number of disciplines in QS rating as well.
