The schedule of Russian Seasons Festival is completed until 2020, TASS reports. According to the Head of RF Ministry of Culture Vladimir Medinsky, the festival will be hosted in Italy next year, following year in US, and in 2020 German audience will have a chance to attend this event.

As we mentioned before in 2017 Russian Seasons will take place in Japan. 10 Russian regions will be involved in preparation of the Festival, which will encompass 42 cities.

According to Russkiy Mir Foundation, earlier the Government of the Russian Federation made a decision to conduct Russian Seasons on a state level annually. Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Olga Golodets and Artistic Director of the Mariinsky Theatre Valery Gergiev were appointed managers of the organizing committee for this project.

Vladimir Medinsky commented that such cultural events are not to be considered “soft power” manifestation. He emphasized that they represent an essential place for interaction.

The Minister explained that the cliché of culture being a “soft power” has been around for a long time. However, he is confident that culture itself is not meant for competition of any kind since the power is not required in this case.

«Culture is a tool for interaction of nations, peoples and states, it is an ambassador of peace», — Vladimir Medinsky believes. Exactly in this context Moscow is looking to revive Dyagilev Seasons, the historical project that opened up the beauty and the depth of Russian culture to Europe at the beginning of 20 century.
