World Winter Military Games finished in Sochi

Traditional World Winter Military Games have been completed, as IA Interfax informs. The competitions’ flag is hauled down and passed over to Germany, where the Games will be held in four years, in 2021.

Deputy Defense Minister Nikolay Pankov has noticed that the organizers managed to demonstrate high level of military sports, openness and determination to collaborate. In his opinion, the main result of the Games is that all participants became much closer to each other.

The total winner of the medal count is the team of the Russian Armed Forces. The team members accepted a special prize, The Best Team Cup from the hands of International Military Sports Council President, Colonel Abdul Hakeem Al Shino.

National team took the lead in unofficial medal count right from the start and did not give the first place to anybody. At the end, Russians won 42 awards of different values. The competition hosts took twenty-two gold medals, besides they have nine silver and eleven bronze medals.

It should be mentioned that military teams from more than 20 countries competed at the Military Games. Forty-four sets of medals were up for grabs.
