Bolshoi Theatre and Paris Opera will stage Peace and War

17.02.2017

Bolshoi Theatre together with l'Opera national de Paris are working over a major project, RIA Novosti informs. According to the head of one of the most famous national artistic groups Vladimir Urin, the project comprises two performances at once.

It is already known that one of the performances is Peace and War by Russian composer Sergei Prokofiev. Mr Urin shared this information during the meeting with the president of Russia Vladimir Putin, which took place on February 17.

Vladimir Urin added that Russian spectators are welcome to visit the show of L'Opera Garnier this year as the French theatre is going on a road tour to Russia. And next year Bolshoi Theatre will arrive at Paris.

There is one more large-scale project with Metropolitan Opera from New York, which now is being discussed. “I don't want to jinx it, but in March we are signing a protocol of intention," Vladimir Urin commented. Three tandem performances are planned; first two opening nights will be given in Moscow, and only after that in New York.

Besides, a range of interesting projects is implemented together with Milan theatre La Scala.

Bolshoi theatre will participate in several festivals in France and Finland in 2017. The cast is also expected overseas with anticipation.
