The Head of state reminded that for the first time since the end of 1980s Russia was named the key threat to safety of countries included in the Alliance during another NATO Summit in the Polish capital last year. NATO declared its mission at the Summit, which is to deter our country and NATO enlargement aims at deterring Russia as now western countries, as it seems, found far more serious grounds for this process.

«We are provoked over and over again, to tell the truth, constantly provoked. NATO aims at dragging us into confrontation. Attempts to intervene into our domestic affairs to destabilize social and political environment within Russia», Putin mentioned.

The international situation has been very unstable last year, Russian President remarked. On the contrary, many existing challenges and threats has been worsened; military and political competition between global and regional policy-makers and certain states has grown.
