Russian Seasons Festival will take place in 42 Japanese cities

Ten Russian regions will participate in Russian Seasons Festival in Japan, RIA Novosti reports.

It is already known that the festival will cover 42 cities in the Land of the Rising Sun. By now discussion grounds are being chosen and discussed. As the deputy head of Federal Cultural Service Alexander Zhuravsky stated, it was planned to establish connections with film making community as well. In particular, a well-known Russian film director Andrei Konchalovsky will visit Japan to show his feature Paradise, as a part of Russian Seasons Festival. Apart from that, more than 50 cultural events are planned at the Festival.

It should be reminded, that Russian President Vladimir Putin has announced this Cultural Forum event on the eve of his visit to Tokyo.

XI Russian Culture Festival took place in Japan last year. The agenda included performances of Ballet Company from St. Petersburg Mikhailovsky Theatre, two circus troupes as well several music bands. A special place was allocated to cinema. The festival was attended by more than a million people.

This year Japan will be a guest of the next VI Saint-Petersburg International Cultural Forum.
