The day before, in Bursa, a concert dedicated to the memory of Alexandrov Ensemble artists who were killed in a plane crash near Sochi, was held by Nilüfer women's choir.

The Alexandrov Ensemble Choir, and its director Valery Khalilov repeatedly had tours in Turkey, and won the hearts of lovers of Russian music and culture. Choirmaster Aysel Gürel said that with this concert, the band members wanted to express their sympathy and make it clear that they remember our colleagues, empathize, and have great respect for the surviving members of The Alexandrov Ensemble, which are currently having a difficult time.

Excerpts of previous performances by the Alexandrov Ensemble in Bursa were shown on screen before the performance. During the concert, a Turkish version of Katyusha song was performed.

The Nilüfer choir was established in 2005. Their repertoire includes a variety of well-known songs, performed in six languages.
