Pushkin Day at the Russian University of Peoples’ Friendship

On 6 June, Faculty of additional education for the teachers of Russian language and Faculty of Russian language and general education subjects of the University of Peoples’ Friendship, at the office of the Russkiy Mir Foundation, organized a series of open classes “The Day of the Russian Language” dedicated to the 217th birth anniversary of Alexander Pushkin.

The event was opened by Sergey Shulgin, Executive Director of the Foundation, and Tatyana Balykhina, Dean of the named Faculty. Participants of the festival prepared a presentation about the childhood and youth of the poet, recited his poems, sang songs, what created a unique poetic athmoshere.

These events prove the status of the Rusian literature, language and culture – our rich cultural heritage that allowed us to organize a discussion that gathered 500 teachers, methodics’ specialists and foreign students from 96 countries from Asia, Africa, Latin Amerika, Europe and CIS countries.
