Russkiy Mir Foundation Participates in Media-Festival “Otkrytie”

12-13 March, N. N. Dubinin Boarding School for Gifted Children of Vladivostok hosted the 4th Far East Media Festival “Otkrytie”, a competition of media materials for teachers and school students. 

It took a long time for participants to prepare their printed materials, photos and videos, to develop their information projects and screenplays. Eligibility conditions were the same for both part-time and full-time participants; the full-time participants were able to attend series of additional events included to the Festival’s program. 

The Far East affiliate of the Russkiy Mir Foundation awarded winners of the teacher’s competition and the competition “The World in Your Hands”, nomination “Generation of Peace”. Altogether, the geography of the winners was quite remarkable this year. The winners from the Gymnasium Nr. 1 of Vladivostok and cartoon studio “Ars-Cinema” of the city Arsenyev received their awards at the event; participants from Novosibirsk, Luga (Leningrad Oblast), Amursk (Khabarovsk Krai) and Moscow will receive their awards by post. 

Moreover, a famous Far East journalist Alexandr Syrtsov held a speech in front of the future photographers and journalists. Previously he had participated in the work of the Russkiy Mir Foundation – “Journalist of the Russkiy Mir” event and 9th Assembly of the Russkiy Mir Foundation. This time is was a meeting called “5 Secrets of a Journalist in 50 Minutes”; Syrtsov shared his experience, stories about his working trips, and answered questions. “Don’t be afraid to try something new, and do not fear anyone,” – the journalist said.
