International Round Table for Teachers Held in Minsk

February 29 to March 2, secondary school Nr. 70 of Minsk hosted the International round table “Educating a Generation of Peace”. The event organized by the International pedagogical club, secondary school Nr. 70 of Minsk, and the Russkiy Mir Foundation united teachers from Russia, Ukraine and Belarus. 

The Russian Federation was represented by Irina Avdeeva, Prorector for continuing education of the Sevastopol State University, and Valenina Khrabrova, Director of the Institute for Further professional education of the same university. 

Archpriest Sergiy (Evtushik) of the All Hallows Church in Minsk, poetess Valentina Polikanina, member of the Belarusian Writers’ Union, as well as teachers of the school Nr. 70, its students and their parents represented Belarus. Alexander Kondryakov participated on behalf of Ukraine. 

The program of the event included a round of an international quiz “I Know!” The round consisted of tasks on world history, Russian language and literature, as well as logics and erudition. The quiz gathered together students of the Pervomaysky district schools of Minsk and students of the faculty of Philology of the Belarus State University.  

The final round on April 22, 2016, will take place at the school Nr. 70 and will decide the absolute winner. The prize will be a holiday package at a children’s holiday camp “Klassika” in Latvia.
