Issues in Teaching Russian Discussed in Georgia

A roundtable entitled “Russian Language. How to Teach It?” was held on 22 January in Tbilisi, Georgia. Its participants discussed the issues in teaching Russian as a foreign language in Georgia, shared their experiences and spoke about the prospects of teaching Russian in Tbilisi schools and universities.

The forum brought together the officials of the Georgian Education Ministry, representatives of the House of Teachers Resource Center, teachers of Russian language and public figures. The event was also attended by Vladimir Kochin, Executive Director of the Russkiy Mir Foundation.

The forum was organized by the National Congress of Georgia’s Slavic Peoples with support from the Russkiy Mir Foundation.
