'Rusin' Magazine Looks Back at 2015

The 11th year of the Rusin international historical magazine was quite productive. It was announced in mid-2015 that Rusin ranked 10th among the Eastern European historical magazines in 2014 (http://scimagojr.com) according to the Scopus database. The magazine was included into the List of Peer-Reviewed Scientific Publications of the Russian Education Ministry.

In 2015 the Rusin magazine, in conjunction with the Tomsk State University, hosted four international conferences, with some of their materials published in the magazine. It also published a new issue of Rusin Journal Library devoted to research in the field of history, culture and language of Rusyns (also known as Rusnaks). The publication comes out four times a year. As of today, three issues of the Rusin Journal Library have been published.

The editing staff is planning to start issuing the English-language Rusin Studies. An Abstracts Journal in 2016.

There are also plans to publish four more issues of the Rusin magazine in 2016. The publication will be dedicated to the same topics, along with the materials of international scientific conferences co-hosted by the magazine:

  2. History of Carpathian-Dniester Lands from Ancient Times to Early 21st Century (100th Anniversary of the Brusilov Offensive) (24–25 May 2016, Chisinau)
  3. Slavic World in the Context of Contemporary Challenges (7–9 October 2016, Tomsk)
  4. Inter-Ethnic Interactions in the Ethnic Contact Zone (Fifth Readings in Memory of Ivan Antsupov (20–21 October 2016, Chisinau).

Publications

Italian entrepreneur Marco Maggi's book, "Russian to the Bone," is now accessible for purchase in Italy and is scheduled for release in Russia in the upcoming months. In the book, Marco recounts his personal odyssey, narrating each stage of his life as a foreigner in Russia—starting from the initial fascination to the process of cultural assimilation, venturing into business, fostering authentic friendships, and ultimately, reaching a deep sense of identifying as a Russian at his very core.
