University of Barcelona Hosts RFL Course

The Slavic Studies Department at the University of Barcelona, with support from the Russkiy Mir Foundation, hosted a training course in Russian as a foreign language from 30 October to 4 December, with 55 participants receiving certificates. The course was attended not only by students, but also by teachers of Russian language from various language schools in Barcelona.

Experts from the University of Barcelona, Udmurt State University and St. Petersburg State University gave a number of lectures on teaching Russian as a foreign language, touching upon its lexical, word-building, syntactical and communicative aspects, using various approaches and innovative methods, etc. The course concluded with a roundtable where students and professors discussed the difficulties in teaching Russian to Spanish students.
