Two virtual reading rooms of the Russian State Library are scheduled to open in Hungary. The first reading room will open at the Eötvös Loránd University, the largest university in Hungary, on 8 December, with the second one opening the following day at the University of Pecs.

The project was conceived by the Russkiy Mir Foundation and the Russian State Library. Both virtual reading rooms of Russia's largest library will be located at the Russian Centers established in Budapest and Pecs by the Russkiy Mir Foundation.

A Russian Center
The Eötvös Loránd University and the University of Pecs are two well-known Hungarian education institutions with a rich history. The Eötvös Loránd University was founded in the 17th century. Today, 28,000 students study there. The first university in Hungary was established in Pecs as early as 1361. The University of Pecs is one of Europe’s oldest universities; 16,000 students receive education there today.

The virtual reading halls mark the beginning of a new joint project. On 17 December, students of the University of Belgrade (Serbia) will receive access to the library funds at the university’s Russian Center.
