03.02.2010

Starting from February 1 a Finnish city Kouvola will host the Russian Food Week. The event will run in the context of the cooperation between the twin towns Vologda and Kouvola. Cooking sessions will be conducted by tutors and students of Vologda Cooperative Training College.

On the first day students from Vologda will offer their Finnish counterparts a presentation about the traditional Russian food. The following two days will be devoted to cooking, with the food to be offered to visitors of a local restaurant. According to the event organizers, decoration of a dining hall will reflect traditional Russian patterns (Gzhel, Khokhloma etc.) and will be changed every day; and waitresses (Russian and Finnish students) will wear traditional Russian female clothes.

Organization of the students’ trip was handled by Vologda city administration.
