Kostroma to Celebrate the 400th Anniversary of the Romanov Dynasty

A conference entitled “Unity. Great Power Statehood. Sainthood” kicked off February 4 at Kostroma. The event hosted by the local Club of the Nobility is devoted to the Romanov Dinasty and its impact on Russia’s history, a website sedmitza.ru reports.

The forum is the first event marking the 400th anniversary of the Romanov Dinasty and will be followed by a number of other initiatives – exhibitions, concerts, competitions and theatrical events. Thus, March 12 will see the opening of an exhibition of 126 Faberge masterpiece; and in late March a theatrical event will be organized at Ipatievsky Monastery, where the ceremony of electing Mikhail Romanov as Russia's tsar took place in 1613.
