Nizhny Novgorod to Host the First Language Festival

February 7 Nizhny Novgorod will host the first Language Festival, a website nta-nn.ru reports.

The event will comprise open presentations of various languages during which native speakers will give mini-lessons telling the audience about a language history, culture, traditions and the current status of a language. Presentations will also comprise songs, photographs and videos. Visitors of the forum will have a chance to get familiar with over 25 languages including English, French, German, Arabic, Greek, Irish, Gypsy, Spanish, Korean, Japanese, Polish, Portuguese, Swedish, Hindi, Esperanto etc.

Apart from lectures and workshops the event participants will be also briefed on various educational programs and volunteer opportunities.

According to organizers of the festival, its key aim is to combat xenophobia and racism in the society.
