‘Our Gagarin’ in Belgrade

On March 9, the Russian Center in Belgrade celebrated the birthday of Yuri Gagarin. Visitors of the center were first treated to a showing of the documental film ‘Our Gagarin’, which allowed a glimpse of the first spacecraft designs of Tsioklovsky, the first Soviet rockets, Gagarin’s flight, the first spacewalk, first Russian orbiting stations…

The film was followed by a discussion of the history of Russia’s space exploration efforts, about the life of Yuri Gagarin, his training to become the first cosmonaut, return to earth as well as his life and career following flight of the most famous pilot in the world. Furthermore, fourth-year students read their compositions on the themes Cosmism and Poetry of Starry Heights…

At the conclusion of the program, the choir of the philological department sung songs dedicated to Yuri Gagarin.
