First in Space Russian Language Week at Tajik National University

21.01.2011

The Russian Center at Tajik National University (TNU) will April 5-12 hold a Russian Language Week on the theme First in Space, the events of which will be devoted to the 50th anniversary of Yuri Gagarin’s flight. Here we will once again emphasize that the first language in space was Russian.

The Russian Language Week will begin with an opening ceremony with high-level participants and guests – representatives of the dean’s office of TNU, the Russian Embassy, Rossotrudnichestvo, universities, schools, Russian Centers in Dushanbe and journalists.

The program of the week’s events includes a conference titled First in Space and a number of writing competitions for works devoted to the anniversary of Gagarin’s flight. Evening events for schoolchildren and students will also be held throughout the week.

The Russian Language Week will conclude with a celebratory event on April 12 at the Russian Center.
