Russian Center in Slupsk Announces Event Plans for First in Space Campaign

As a part of the First in Space campaign, the Center of Russian Language and Culture in Slupsk, Poland, is planning a number of events to draw attention to one of the greatest events in the history of human civilization – the first manned flight into outer space.

Events planned to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Gagarin’s flight include:

  • April 12 – Professor Vladimir Tomin will chair a conference called “Journey to the Stars”
  • April 12 – Film viewing dedicated to Gagarin’s flight: “Man Returns from Space” and “Our Gagarin”
  • April 11-16 – Exhibition on Yuri Gagarin will be held at the Russian Center 
  • April 16 – A student olympiad will be held for students on space exploration topics at the Pomeranian Academy in Slupsk
