“Live Russian Word” Competition Begins in Estonia

According to the organizers, the aim of this competition is to reward creative activities aimed at popularizing Russian language and culture. The competition will accept the works of professional writers, journalists and columnists as well as from amateur writers.

The competitors have the freedom to choose the format of their work for entry into the competition. It can be poetry or prose, a personal review of an important event, an interpretive translation of a work from a foreign language into Russian, reporting, video or photographic reporting, journals, documentary writing, etc.

The competition consists of 12 stages, each independent of the next, taking place every month. And the results will also be announced from month to month. The first, second and third place winners will receive monetary prizes, with other special prizes possible for individuals and organizations participating in the competition.

The competition is being organized by the Information Portal of the Russian Society of Estonia together with the Pushkin Institute in Tallinn and with financial support from the Russkiy Mir Foundation.
