Russkiy Mir Foundation Issues First in Space Multimedia Language Learning DVD

The publishing house Russian Language Course and the Russkiy Mir Foundation have introduced their set of language learn materials on DVD called First in Space, dedicated to the 50th anniversary of Yuri Gagarin’s flight.

The materials are aimed at helping young people learn the Russian language. This represents a wonderful opportunity for people to get to know Russian history and the culture of the people which opened the road for mankind to explore space.

Yuri Gagarin enamored the world as soon as news of his feat was announced. People saw his photograph and his smile at once became legendary.

Why did Gagarin of all people become the world’s first cosmonaut? What was the first space pioneer like? How did he handle the international fame that was unprecedented in history? The users of this language learning set have the opportunity to discover the answers to these questions and other interesting facts about first human to visit outer space. The materials will soon be available in the Foundation’s Russian Centers and Russkiy Mir Cabinets around the world.
