Vyacheslav Nikonov Takes Part in Meeting of Worldwide Coordination Council of Russian Compatriots

Representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science, Rossotrudnichestvo and the Russkiy Mir Foundation participated in a meeting of the Worldwide Coordination Council of Russian Compatriots. Executive Director of the Russkiy Mir Foundation Vyacheslav Nikonov, deputy head of Rossotrudnichestvo Evgeny Kozhokin and deputy director of the department of international cooperation of the Ministry of Education and Science Larisa Efremova told the audience about work being carried out but state and nongovernmental organizations in support of compatriots living outside Russia.

The discussion touched upon such issues as Russian educational programs abroad. In particular, they spoke about providing the opportunity for students to take the Unified State Examination abroad, the organization of preparatory departments at leading universities, and the creation and implementation of learning programs for foreign students.

One of the key topics was the upcoming Congress of Russian School Teachers Abroad, which is being organized to allow the participants to share their work experiences not only with regard to preserving current Russian schools but also the creation of new schools. The idea of creating a Russian school network abroad will also be discussed.

The meeting was constructive and led to the discovery of additional areas for cooperation and coordination to support compatriots and promote the use of Russian language throughout the world.
