Heads of CIS Countries Meet for Informal Summit in Yalta

First and foremost the presidents discussed pressing issues of economic cooperation within the Commonwealth and the implementation of joint infrastructure projects.

The six CIS states' leaders, who gathered in the Crimea for the informal CIS summit, will continue working on creation of the common market agreement, RIA Novosti reports. The CIS countries' members said they had reached the decision to continue working on common market's new agreement that would ease the trade transactions on the post-Soviet states' territory.

Dmitry Medvedev also congratulated the President of Ukraine on his 60th birthday and wished him health and success in the difficult position of President. The Russian President expressed his hope that under Mr Yanukovych's leadership Ukraine will further develop as a stable, prosperous and powerful nation with reliable partners.
