St. Petersburg Prepares for International Economic Forum

09.06.2010

Preparations are underway in Russia's second city of St. Petersburg for the 14th International Economic Forum, which will run from June 17-19. The road from Pulkovo airport to the center of the city has been decorated with banners with the Forum's logo, RIA Novosti reports.

Some 600 journalists have applied for accreditation and organizers say over 1,000 hotel rooms have already been reserved for the eminent politicians and businessmen expected to attend the event.

The slogan of this-year forum is "Laying the foundation for the future" and discussion will focus on the problems faced by emerging economies. Evenings will be filled with a broad cultural program, prepared by St. Petersburg's theatres and concert halls.
