Washington Hosts Nuclear Summit

President Medvedev is in Washington DC, taking part in a nuclear security summit that has brought together 47 countries as well as the UN and the IAEA, the Voice of Russia reports.

Called to safeguard the world from the nuclear threat, the high-profile meeting promises to be the biggest international event hosted by the US after the 1945 San Francisco conference that founded the UN.

The summit will produce a communiquй and a work plan with every participating country being expected to circulate a national memorandum that will be published on the summit’s website.
