22.04.2010

The liberation of Norwegian Arctic by the Red Army paved the way for good neighborly relations between Oslo and Moscow in the years of the Cold War and continues to live in people’s memory today serving a solid foundation for bilateral cooperation, the Voice of Russia reports. This announcement came from the Governor of Finnmark country Gunnar Kjonnoy in the run-up to President Medvedev’s visit to Norway. Festive events commemorating the 65th anniversary of VE Day took place in Kirkenes last autumn.
