Russian Language-Seminars Begin in London

The annual cycle of seminars on Russian language and modern life in Russian society began in London April 5, under the auspices of the Society for Cooperation in Russian and Soviet Studies (SCRSS).

The SCRSS Russian Seminar 2010 is a two-day intensive program of lectures in Russian on contemporary Russian society, culture and linguistics, given by two lecturers from St Petersburg State University, Russia. Dr Vadim Golubev, Head of the English Department, Faculty of Journalism, St Petersburg University.

Dr Natalia Rogozhina, Deputy Director of the Science Department, St Petersburg University. Dr Rogozhina is also a member of the Secretariats of MAPRYAL (International Association of Teachers of Russian Language & Literature) and the Russian Society of Teachers of Russian Language and Literature.

The seminar is aimed at teachers of Russian, graduates of Russian and final-year undergraduates who have a good comprehension of spoken Russian and wish to keep abreast of the latest developments in Russia.
