02.04.2010

On April 2 Tatiana Sorokko's exhibition "Extending the Runway: Tatiana Sorokko Style" opened in Moscow, Moscow News reports. Sorokko, Russia's first top model, has collected vintage dresses and accessories throughout her brilliant career, and now Moscow gets the chance to see 80 items from her collection at the All-Russian Museum of Decorative Art as a part of Russian Fashion Week.

It was in 1990 that Sorokko left the Soviet Union, and within a year, she was modeling for Yves Saint Laurent and Lacroix. After leaving the runway, she maintained her connection with fashion, and she now heads the fashion department of the Phoenix Museum of Art. Items in her collection include designs by such notables as Lanvin, Madame Gres, Balenciaga, Hermes, Gaultier, Vivienne Westwood and Yamamoto.
