03.05.2010

The eternal flame has been lit at Poklonnaya Hill in the west of Moscow in the memory of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War, Voice of Russia reports. The torch was lit from the eternal flame at the tomb of the Unknown Soldier in the Alexander's Garden and carried to the Poklonnaya Hill by an armored vehicle followed by a motocycle escort. The ceremony was attended by war veterans, many of whom could not hold back tears. The best cadets of the Moscow military schools have been chosen to serve the guard of honor near the flame.
