A photo exhibition devoted to the Soviet people’s hefty contribution to the Allied victory over Nazi Germany in WWII is ongoing at the  French cultural center in Caracas. The display has been organized by the Russian embassy and Rossotrudnichestvo agency, Itar-Tass reports.  Speaking at the opening ceremony the French ambassador Jean-Marc Laforet described as “highly significant” the fact that the 65anniversary of the Allied Victory over Nazism coincides with the ongoing Year of Russia in France and the Year of France in Russia festivals. He spoke about the immeasurable contribution to the common victory made by the Soviet people adding that the exhibition would help Venezuelans better appreciate the Soviet Union’s role in the great victory won by the world democracies over the dark forces of Nazism.
