The Russian Language Olympiad Final in Congo

15.03.2009

On March 15 at the Russian Center of Science and Culture in Brazzaville, the final of the 19th National Russian Language and Literature Olympiad took place, organized by Rossotrudnichestvo and the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education and Ending Illiteracy of Congo.

This year’s Olympiad motto was “2009 - the Year of Youth in Russia”. In terms of numbers it was one of the biggest in recent years; it was televised on the national Tele-Congo channel.

This year Rossotrudnichestvo was able to award scholarships to two lucky prizewinners to continue their higher education in Russia, majoring in Russian Philology. Other winners received valuable special prizes, while every single participant received a souvenir to remember the event.
