13.01.2010

Moscow will see a spectacular array of art shows in 2010, Voice of Russia reports. The Kremlin museums are hosting an exposition of Ottoman treasures from Istanbul, the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts is showing works by Picasso from the Picasso museum in Paris, and the Tretiakov Gallery is featuring an extensive collection of works by the Soviet painter Alexander Deyneka.

Sources in the Kremlin museums say the artworks from Istanbul will include personal items, full dresses, weapons and decorations that belonged to rulers of the Ottoman Empire in the 14th -17th cc., and rare miniatures and manuscripts,  including those of the Koran. Coming next will be a display of jewels by the French master Rene Lalique from museums in France, the United States and Japan.
