The Russian State Museum will be in charge of an exhibition in the Louvre entitled the "Holy Russia - Russian art from ancient times to the era of Peter the Great", reports RIA Novosti. The exhibition will take place in Paris between March 5 and May 24.

According to Irina Solovieva, head of the Ancient Russian Art section of the Russian Museum, in addition to its own exhibits, the Russian Museum will select and prepare some 130 works from the museums of St. Petersburg, Leningrad Oblast and the North-West Russia – and then transport these to the exhibition in Paris.

The exhibition "Holy Russia - Russian art from ancient times to the era of Peter the Great" is timed to coincide with the Year of Russia celebrations in France. It will contain around four hundred ancient art and craft pieces created in the 9th - 20th centuries and now part of the collections of the Russian Museum, Tretyakov Gallery and other repositories of Russian art.
