Bulat Okudzhava Song Festival Underway in Moscow

The 7th Bulat Okudzhava song festival is underway in Moscow, Voice of Russia reports. Today, on the Victory Day, Bulat Okudzhava who was famous Russian poet, writer, and singer-songwriter would turn 86. His friends and admirers gathered on Trubnaya Square where Moscow bards (singers-songwriters) are performing Okudzhava's songs about the Great Patriotic War.

When he was 18, Okudzhava volunteered for the Red Army and from 1942 participated in the war with Nazi Germany.  The Okudzhava festival will last till May 23.
