The effectiveness of the Russian Sputnik M vaccine reaches 93%, TASS reports. The anti-coronavirus drug is intended for adolescents between the ages of 12 and 17.

The first batches of the vaccine were released into civilian circulation at the end of December, 2021. The drug was introduced under the trade name Gam-COVID-Vac-M.

The coronavirus vaccine for adolescents was registered in Russia a month ago. Earlier, the head of the Gamaleya Center, Academician Alexander Gintsburg, said that Sputnik V was diluted with saline five times for adolescents and ten times for the younger group. According to him, these doses of the Russian drug will be effective and safe for children.

The Ministry of Health assured that adolescents will be vaccinated only voluntarily with the consent of their parents or legal guardians.
