Vladimir Putin and Narendra Modi agreed to promote Russian language in India

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi have agreed to promote and popularize the Russian language in India and Hindi in Russia. The meeting between the heads of the states took place the day before, on December 6, according to the website of the President of the Russian Federation. The negotiations lasted more than three hours. 

The heads of the states are sure that the promotion of Russian and Hindi should continue with the help of language higher educational istitutions of two countries, the ties between them should be expanded. The parties highly praised the program of cultural exchanges between the Russian and Indian cultural departments. It was decided to continue organizing cultural and film festivals in both countries.

Vladimir Putin called India "a great power with people friendly to us." In his opinion, cooperation between countries in the economy, investment, energy, high technologies, space and other industries is developing progressively and systematically.

Narendra Modi stressed that it is impossible to overestimate the joint efforts of Russia and India in countering coronavirus infection, whether it is vaccine trials, tits production or humanitarian aid.

The Russian President invited Narendra Modi to visit Russia next year to attend the 22nd Annual Russian-Indian Summit.
