Anniversary of Alexander Nevsky School in Sydney celebrated with Russian Ball

A festive ball was held in one of the halls of the Sydney Olympic Park in honor of the 50th anniversary of the Alexander Nevsky Russian School. More than 400 people attended the gala evening, including school graduates, Russian diplomats and Australian politicians, Edinenie reports. 

Over the years of the school's existence, thousands of young Russians have become its students and graduates. besides basic school subjects, school offers classes in theater, dance, singing and other performance and creative arts. 

Dozens of graduate,s who became teachers, engineers, scientists, businessmen, attended the anniversary celebration. Russian Ambassador to Australia Alexei Pavlovsky congratulated students and teachers of the school. The graduates presented the guests with a dance evening, for several months they had learned how to dance waltz and Russian dances with a choreographer.

The mother of one of the graduates said that classes in a Russian school helped her son adapt to life in Australia after moving, made it possible to find friends in a new country and preserve his knowledge of the Russian language. The young man is considering the possibility of returning to Russia to continue his education.
