02.11.2021

The first volume of the "Anthology of Russian Children's Literature" in Chinese was published on October 25. The book was prepared by a team of translators at Changchun University headed by the Director of the Institute of Foreign Languages, Professor Wang Jinlin, with the support of the Russkiy Mir Foundation.

The first volume of the edition consists of 33 works by six Russian writers: Anthony Pogorelsky, Sergei Aksakov, Dmitry Mamin-Sibiryak, Vladimir Odoevsky, Sergei Prokofiev and Dmitry Ushinsky.

According to Professor Wang Jinlin, the book became the first project to translate the classic Russian children's literature of the 19th and 20th centuries into Chinese after the start of a policy of reform in the country.

3,000 copies of the book will be sent to state, provincial, city and district libraries, as well as reading rooms in most city schools.

The Changchun University translation team continues to work on the second volume of the anthology.
