Singing collectives from Orthodox churches in Paris and guests from Russia will perform masterpieces of Russian sacred music in Holy Trinity Cathedral which is located on the quai Branly of the French capital. The Korsun and Pereyaslav eparchies of the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC) became the organizers of the choral festival, the website of the Korsun eparchy informs.

Four groups will take part in the festival: the choir of the Paris Alexander Nevsky Cathedral under the baton of protodeacon Alexander Kedrov, the choir of the cathedral church in honor of the holy archangels in Paris under the direction of Ionut Fortuna, the choir ensemble Philomelia conducted by Alyona Leschevalier, and the Russian male choir Yaroslavsky headed by Alexey Kornev. The collectives were not chosen randomly. The Paris temple is closely connected with Yaroslavl: ten bells for the cathedral were made at the plant in Tutaev, Yaroslavl region.

The Holy Trinity Cathedral and the Russian Orthodox Spiritual and Cultural Center opened in Paris near the Eiffel Tower in the fall of 2016. The buildings are located on land acquired by the Government of Russia.

Russian sacred music this week also sounded in the cathedrals of Rome and Vatican. Russkiy Mir reported that the Saint Petersburg Court Chapel performed spiritual works by Russian composers at the Papal Basilica of St. Peter in the Vatican and the Roman Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore.
