Dove of Peace campaign held in Russia at International Day of Peace

engels.meRussian cities conduct Dove of Peace campaign timed with International Day of Peace established by General Assembly of the United Nations. People send paper doves to the sky traditionally at 9:30 a.m. of local time. This is a tribute to the memory of those who fought against Fascism and protected Peace on Earth at the expense of their own lives.

The Unified Hour of Spirituality was arranged in Moscow as a part of this campaign at the Poklonnaya Hill, organized by the Heirs of the Victory social organization and Russian Foreign Ministry. The audience honored the memory of worriers perished in the Second World War and sent doves of paper tied to the white balloons into the sky with the song Fly, Doves, Fly at the background. Chairman of the Heirs of the Victory Valery Kalyakin gave a gala speech calling the guests for remembering the price our people paid for our freedom and independence.

Partnership of Twin Schools videoconference will take place at the school № 2097 in Moscow with participation of different schools’ representatives from various cities of Russia and the former Soviet countries.

Dove of Peace campaign was also held in Yuzhno-Kurilsk, Omsk, Ekaterinburg, Kazan, Smolensk and other Russian cities.
