First power plant on Russian solar modules launched in Altai

pixabay.comSolar power station has started functioning in one of the regions of Altai, TASS informs. It became the first plant based on heterojunction solar modules produced in Russia.

Efficiency of hybrid elements has been much increased. They raise conversion of solar energy many times even if the sun is behind the clouds. Technology enables to improve efficiency rate and have better performance when operating in dispersed light.

Gala opening ceremony of the power plant took place on September 19. As per the regional authorities, its capacity is twenty megawatts. The project’s cost is 35 thousand US dollars. The contractor was Solar Energy Company.

Solar power stations are a joint project of Hevel group and Altai government. The construction works started at the end of spring.

Solar power plant in Maiminsk region is the forth station in Altai. Earlier it was planned to increase total power generating capacity up to ninety megawatts.

At present, it became known there is decision to build four major power plants of eighty megawatts in the region.
